Who needs accountability?

Meeee, this girl does! Last week went sideways. I could list plenty of reasons but pretty much they all boil down to .. I took a week long break from all things. Lol. I managed to survive with the 3 kids and hubby in tow. Bleh. Even when you are so very much wanting to change things and make better choices, sometimes you’ll have a hiccup and come to a halt. Getting back to it by making plans and setting a goal will help you start turning those gears again.

My plan: follow the 21 Day Fix and train for a 5K Thanksgiving run
My (short term) goal: Lose 15 more pounds

The people over at Beach Body finally listened to all the voices asking them more a more reasonable vegan 21 Day Fix eating plan. They way the plan was before, the only vegan sources of protein allowed were tofu, tempeh (which is tofu-like), Shakeology, and a very vague “veggie burger”. Thats just not enough choices and no one wants to eat 4 servings of tofu a day! I did the whole 21 days before, eating only vegan foods, but it was pretty limiting.

But they recently edited the 21DF plan to include many more plant based sources of protein, along with a new break down of carbs, and a change in the 21DF container amounts. Which made this girl super happy!!! I can do the plan while focusing on eating a vegan diet and actually continue the nutrition plan after the 21 days is over! (Why do I ❤ this plan so much? They have a pretty great listing of yummy and healthy foods you can eat, you use their recommendations for calorie bracket and container amounts, cook the food, measure it in the containers, and eat the allowed containers for that day. Its really simple and takes little thought.)

I just prepped my meals for the next 3 days. Why 3 days? I figured out that batch cooking for any longer then that takes too much time, the food doesnt stay super fresh, and I start getting tired of eating it after 3 days! Im posting not exactly to get anyone to join (although, hello, you totally should join!) but to have the accountability of putting it out there. Encouragement and accountability. Because I want to lose the stupid final 15 pounds that have been hanging around. And I want to show that this nutrition plan is very do-able (even for people with dietary needs or restrictions, like no animal products). It can be done. You can do it. I HAVE done it (after baby no. 2) and I WILL do it again this time. Woop Woop!

  • Breakfast : Smoothy (Shakeology, Salad greens, Banana, 2tsp chia, water)
  • Lunch: Quinoa, Tempeh, String beans, Mushrooms
  • Snack: Apples, Nuts, 2teasp peanut butter
  • Dinner: Brussels sprouts, snow peas, tofu, Sweet potatoes, hemp seeds, 1tsp oil
  • Snack: Edamame, Cauliflower, Brown rice

Do You Know What Time It Is? Wk 13

What is with me?! I cant seem to get to the computer on Wednesdays for my blog weigh-ins! Next week Ill be here on Wednesday. 🙂 I sort of have a pass for this week, I got the stomach bug on friday and I was finally 100% better on tuesday. Friday, sat, and sun were the worst & I didnt eat a thing. I ended up losing 6 pounds from friday to sunday! Thankfully I was able to eat again on Monday so Im no longer 6 lbs lighter! 😉

Last Wednesday I was at 184lbs and this Wednesday Im at 181lbs. Ill take that! I cant wait to be in the 170’s. After stalling at 185 for what felt like for.ever. it feels good to be losing again. Hopefully things will pick up a lot. Im even more excited now about exercising. Because I was sick I missed 2 runs but I was able to go on Wednesday and it was the best run Ive ever had! Im on week 7 of the Couch-2-10K program. Wednesday I had to warm-up walk for 5 mins, run for 22 mins straight, warm-down walk for 5 mins. When I was done I felt like I could go again! 🙂 And yes, I was running hard! That was awesome…Running for 22 mins straight without feeling like Im going to die, lol!!! For real, just sitting here thinking about it gets me excited about how far Ive come. When I started the couch-2 program I couldnt even run for 60 seconds without feeling like I was ready to stop. Just think about where Ill be at the end of the summer…

Half Marathon Here.I.Come!

Do You Know What Time It Is? Wk 4

Is Weigh in Wednesday time! Week 4.

YES! I bet all of you were on pins-and-needles to read my WIW4 blog post! Except, I am a bad little blogger and am writing this a day late. Sorry! 😉 I didnt have a chance to jump on the computer yesterday and I dont like the ipad wordpress app all that much.

Jumping straight to the good stuff! I lost 2 lbs this week, which is a total loss of 19lbs. I was hoping that I could say Ive lost 20lbs, but thats ok! I am happy because even though I didnt quite hit my goal for this week, my clothing is starting to look a little big. Ive retired 2 skirts already, they are WAY to big– I had an incident where I was playing around in the back yard, chasing after George, and the skirt totally fell off of me! :O Some of my bootay was showing but luckily I was able to catch the skirt before it fell all the way down. Ack! I also have some shirts and pants that are starting to look baggy. So if any of my friends see me out and I look like a hot.mess. its because I refuse to buy any new clothes until Ive lost all of the baby weight. (Excuse the droopy pants!)

I Will Keep Going

I Will Keep Going

Btw, one of the mistakes Ive made in the past is when I lost weight (stupid yo-yo diets) I still hung onto my ‘fat’ clothes. Then when I got off said diet, I would start gaining the weight back and would pull out the ‘fat’ clothes. Mistake! I didnt have the encouragement and drive to get back in gear because my trusty ole chubby clothes were there, waiting for me. Not this time! Ill either donate them to someone else who can use them, put them away for my next pregnancy (instead of buying pregnancy clothes), or BURN them. 😉 Im leaning towards the latter.

In order to kick up my exercise and make sure Im staying healthy (not just losing weight from diet), Ive decided that Im going to start back with my running. In the summer of 2010 I completed the Couch25K program. At the end of that summer I was running 3.5 miles around my neighborhood 3x a week. Which was not an easy task because my neighborhood is 90% hills. Killer hills. I didnt get to the point where I loved running but I did like the way it made me feel. And a huge bonus was that I got 30 mins to myself!

One of my awesome fb friends has encouraged me to train for a half marathon. 13.1 miles people! I was going to sign up and go for it … but the logistics of the race that weekend isnt working out. Instead Im going to start the C25K program over (hoping that I can go through it a little faster then in 2010), continue on training, and run a half marathon by the end of next summer.! I cant believe I just said Im going to run a half marathon. The friend thats been encouraging me made the statement that I just need to commit to doing it– and go for it! Before I realize Ive gotten myself into, get scared, psyche myself out, and quit. I might die trying, but at least Im going to try.

I WIll Not Quit

I WIll Not Quit

Who wants to run a race with me…!!
